About Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is one of the Federal law enforcement agencies in Nigeria but with the focus on financial crimes such as fraud, money laundering, corruption, and cybercrime related financial offences etc.

The Commission was established in 2002 by the then President, Olusegun Obasanjo through the National Assembly Act but operations fully commenced in 2003. This was in response to the pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) where Nigeria was regarded a non-compliant country in global fight against money laundering.

Currently, the headquarter of the commission is in Abuja with zonal commands across the 36 states of the federation. As of 2026, the current chairman is Ola Olukoyede.

Sequel to the outstanding performance of this commission, competitive salary, and other benefits, many Nigerians have always indicated interest in the recruitment exercise thus, the reason why many are asking when the next EFCC recruitment 2026 is starting.
